SUDTRIHMBULSGOROD - The Sovereign, His Majesty The King Andre I has declared a new national holiday for the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan. The new holiday, Fastnacht, is derived from the Pennsylvania Dutch tradition which The Sovereign, His Majesty The King Andre I is connected to. The original holiday was connected to Christians using their extravagant ingredients prior to a period of fasting and is related to the Christian day of Easter. In the Trimblestaner tradition, Fastnacht, or as it is known in the Trimble language of Fahstnochnoy, is held on 17 February each year and celebrated with the consumption of donuts. The stated intention of Fastnacht in the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan is to enjoy the culinary delights of our forefathers. The date chosen was based upon the first day of the Pennsylvania Dutch Fastnacht since the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan declared its sovereignty.
The Sovereign, His Majesty The King Andre I stated, "Today is a glorious day when we can announce the beginning of a new tradition in the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan. Fastnacht is a tradition from the Pennsylvania Dutch with whom our nation has ethnic links. Our Fastnacht brings the citizens of our great nation together to enjoy the wonders of the kitchen with food to fill out our bodies."
