KUNINGSGOROD - The Department of Security is pleased to announce the successful completion of Operation Donkey Trough. Operation Donkey Trough was the first military mission of 1 Patrol Maneuvers Team of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan Defense Forces. The exercise was a peaceful training project to test operational cooperation and tactics of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan Defense Forces. 1 Patrol Maneuvers Team was tasked with reaching Qinling Mountain in the neighboring People's Republic of China and climbing to the Catholic Shrine of Our Lady located on one of it's peaks to carry out photographic reconnaissance. The total distance covered is difficult to estimate but is believed to be approximately ninety kilometers. The entire mission was carried out in ten hours.
The commander of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan, The Sovereign, His Majesty The King Andre I stated, "Operation Donkey Trough was a successful mission. We as a nation cannot be more proud of our soldiers for successfully completing their mission. Despite some minor technical hurdles from our equipment which we are determined to rectify, a lack of supplies, and five hours of steady rain, our soldiers returned intelligence from their very first mission and did it without much difficulty. 1 Patrol Maneuvers Team will be awarded the First Medal of National Service as our first military unit to complete a mission."
The technical hurdles referred to by The Sovereign, His Majesty The King Andre I were all driveline failures. When pressed for more information, the commander acknowledged "one is very minor and of minor concern. The other was recurring and is worrying as it is both an operational and safety hazard for our soldiers." It is expected that neither will require equipment replacement but that modifications will have to be made to the parameters of the patrol vehicles to ease service. Both will remain environmentally friendly vehicles in line with the Department of Environment's concerns.
As a result of the mission's success, The Sovereign, His Majesty The King Andre I declared 3 September to be Military Day. This national holiday is to acknowledge the contributions of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan Defense Forces to the nation. The Sovereign, The Majesty The King Andre I stated, "3 September 2015 shall be a day that lives on in the lore of our nation with the success of Operation Donkey Trough. There is no better way to remember the services of our military than to reflect on their service each year on a special day. That day, Military Day, shall be 3 September."
