KUNIGSGOROD - Today the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan has begun an embargo against the People's Republic of China, henceforth known as China. The embargo directly applies to the import of goods and travel of citizens from China. The embargo will not prevent citizens of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan from visiting China nor the export of goods and services to China. The government has determined the actions of China's state-owned enterprises interferring with Trimblestaner citizens' unalienable rights required action. The embargo was issued at an emergency government meeting this afternoon in the national capital of Kuningsgorod.
In order for the government of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan to enact a policy towards another nation, it requires government departments to vote in a ballot with a two-thirds majority to decide. After deliberation to set the conditions of the embargo, the ballot favored the embargo twelve votes to three. The discussions were primarily centered on the arguments of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan's economic strength and trade ties to China as well as the injustices towards it's citizens by China.
"Due to the actions of state-owned China Railways in denying services to a law-abiding citizen of the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan, the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan has no other options available but to declare an embargo against the import of goods and travel of citzens from the People's Republic of China. Our citizens have every right to travel as they wish within China provided they have the correct documentation. The citizen affected approached our government offices, discussed the situation and we feel we must support the citizens of our nation by taking this course of action. While the People's Republic of China is our major trade partner and, thus far, the only nation to which we have provided it's citizens travel visas, we must not allow them to dictate to us what travel means. In the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan, any person authorized entry is allowed to travel where they please, when they please, as they please. As we are a nation believing in the rights of human beings, we feel that travel restrictions must only be issued in extreme circumstances. Through it's state-owned enterprises, the People's Republic of China has denied our citizens the right to free travel despite having the correct documentation. This by itself is not an extreme circumstance but the refusal to refund our citizen's money which had already paid for a berth on a train is inexcusable and shows a complete disregard for human decency. We shall not and must not accept such behavior and therefore no citizen of their nation shall be admitted entry into our nation. Unfortunately, this means citizens of the People's Republic of China with valid visas will be refused entry until the embargo has been lifted following corrective actions undertaken by the People's Republic of China. We also do not want their products which may be tainted by such people! This shall not stand and we must not support this! It is understood that this may affect the economic situation of our great nation and for this reason our citizens will still be granted the right to travel to the People's Republic of China, granted they have the correct documentation. We must also continue to export goods and services to help the People's Republic of China to demonstate to them that we are a peaceful nation and to help their economy grow which it desperately needs more than we do. This embargo will require sacrifice from our citizens but the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan must remain united against such diabolical behavior," declared The Sovereign, His Majesty the King Andre I.
The Department of Tourism advises citizens of the People's Republic of China not to travel to the Royal Kingdom of Trimblestan until the embargo has ended as the department will not issue visas during this time nor authorize entry into the nation.
